SEVERE WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER FOUR

TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING: TROPICAL STORM "GLENDA" (RAMMASUN)
Issued at 11:00 a.m., Monday, 14 July 2014

Tropical Storm "GLENDA" has intensified further as it continues to move westward threatening Bicol Region.

Location of eye/center: 620 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (13.3°N, 130.6°E)

Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph.

Movement: Forecast to move West at 28 kph.

Forecast Positions: Tropical Storm“GLENDA” is expected to be in the vicinity of Virac Catanduanes by tomorrow morning and at 6240 km Northwest of Dagupan City by Wednesday morning. By Thursday morning, it is expected to be at the vicinity of Southern China

Public Storm Warning Signal 2 (Winds of 61-100 kph is expected in at least 24 hrs): Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay and Sorsogon

Public Storm Warning Signal 1 (winds of 30 - 60 kph is expected in atleast 36 hours): Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands, Marinduque, Quezon including Polillo Islands, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Southern Aurora, Northern Samar and Metro Manila 

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal #2 & #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under signal #2 are alerted against storm surges.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 7.5 – 25 mm per hour (moderate - intense) within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Eastern seaboards of Luzon and of Visayas.

The public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
