Late PAGASA bulletin riles Albay governor
By Unknown - Monday, July 14, 2014
(GMANETWORK.COM) - The failure of state weather agency PAGASA to issue its update on
Typhoon Glenda (Rammasun) on time has riled the governor of one of the
areas the typhoon is likely to hit.
Albay Governor Jose Salceda indicated in a post on his Facebook page he was not pleased with the late bulletin.
"Omg wala pa 5am SWB (severe weather bulletin)... 32hrs no sleep coz of Amb," he said in his Facebook post at 5:19 a.m.
He said his 32 hours of non-sleep was due to the visit of US Ambassador Philip Goldberg to the province Monday.
A report by radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen said the late issuance was because
PAGASA needed nine signatories before the bulletin could be released.
"Dahilan sa lugar, maraming lugar na may signal. Hinihintay natin
(para) wala tayong nakaligtaan," added forecaster Rene Paciente.
