Escudero foundation launch search for outstanding teachers of Sorsogon

Aimed to honor and give special recognition to teachers who manifest profound commitment to the development of the youth through exemplary competence, remarkable dedication to their work and effective educational leadership, the Salvador H. Escudero III Foundation has organized theSearch for Outstanding Teachers of Sorsogon (SOTS) this school year 2013-2014.
Its founder, Congresswoman Evelina Escudero believes that recognizing our outstanding teachers will inspire countless educators in the province of Sorsogon thus help strengthen the quality of education in the province vis-à-vis with other education programs of the national and local government.
Ten outstanding teachers shall be chosen from among the best elementary, high school and college teachers in Sorsogon, to be awarded on the death anniversary of Tatay Escudero. The SOTS winners will receive Dr. Salvador H. Escudero Award of Excellence for Education, Plaque of Recognition a cash prizes from Senator Chiz Escudero and Congreswoman Evelina Escudero. Winners shall be recommended for the coveted nationwide Search for Outstanding Teachers sponsored by Metrobank Foundation, Inc.
Nominees for this search shall be evaluated as to: (1) personal qualities and character (10%), (2) instructional competence and teaching effectiveness (70%), and, (3) and community involvement (20%).
SHE Foundation a team for the Search for Outstanding Teachers of Sorsogon (SOTS). is chaired by Dr. Rosa D. Anonat, a Metrobank Foundation awardee. The members are: Modesto Detera President, Dr. Ruby Abundabar, DepEd Sorsogon Province Division Dr. Socorro de la Rosa DepEd Sorsogon City Division Superintendent, Dr. Helen Lara representing the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals Mr. Edgar C. Balasta, President of the Rotary Club of Metro Sorsogon, and Mr. Michael B. Sulit, representing SHE Foundation.
